2026 IPA Prix Voltaire Shortlist Announced
The International Publishers Association (IPA) announced the shortlist for the 2026 Prix Voltaire, honouring exceptional courage in upholding the freedom to publish. The shortlist was announced at the World Expression Forum held in Lillehammer, Norway. This year's shortlist features six individuals and organisations who have demonstrated resilience and bravery. IPA represented at Thessaloniki International Book Fair
From 7-10 May, senior representatives of the IPA participated in this year’s Thessaloniki International Book Fair. The Chair of the IPA’s Freedom to Publish Committee, Jessica Sänger, spoke about the global pressures on publishers when it comes to freedom to publish, and what the IPA is doing to highlight and combat those pressures. She spoke about IPA’s major vehicle for recognizing and celebrating the bravery of publishers: the annual IPA Prix Voltaire, which will be awarded this year at the IPA Congress in Kuala Lumpur on 5-9 July. French education publishers welcome court judgement on region's digital textbooksThe Ile-de-France region had created its own digital resources for use through the Pearltrees platform and preventing teachers from using education publishers materials.
