German Publisher Carlsen Files Lawsuit Against Open AI
On August 19, 2026 Carlsen Verlag—supported by the German Bonnier publishing group—filed a lawsuit with the Munich I Regional Court against OpenAI Ireland Ltd. jointly with author Marc-Uwe Kling and illustrator Astrid Henn. Read more.

IPA Condemns Devastating Attacks on Ukrainian Publishing
Ukrainian publishing has come under concerted attack from Russian forces during July and early August with warehouses, printers, and publishing houses targeted across multiple regions including Kyiv, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, and Kherson. IPA understands six people were killed with reports suggesting more than 8 million books, including school books, were destroyed. Read more.
