IPA's week in London finished with the 51st meeting of the Educational Publishers Forum. Kindly hosted by Pearson, there were attendees from the USA to China, and Lesotho to Iceland. Read more.
IPA Leadership Visits Ghana

On 26 April, IPA's Secretary General, José Borghino, spoke online with an audience of Canadian publishers about the current global copyright situation. Read more.
New book casts critical eye on South African copyright reform
Copyright Reform or Reframe?, a monograph published on 20 April by South African publisher Juta, provides a comprehensive legal analysis of most of the new provisions of the South African Copyright and Performers' Protection Amendment Bills. Read more.

Taiwanese publisher Li Yanhe, founder of Gusa Press, has been arrested in China "on suspicion of engaging in activities damaging national security." Read more.

Raúl Padilla: a great cultural advocate
On Sunday, April 2, the former Dean of the University of Guadalajara, president of the Guadalajara International Book Fair, FIL, and dear friend of Mexican publishers, Raúl Padilla, passed away in his home. Read more.

Publishers Weekly featured a profile on new IPA President, Karine Pansa, setting out on her mission on freedom to publish, copyright, and data. Pansa was also featured in PublishNews (Brazil and Spain) ahead of London Book Fair.

PA's Prix Voltaire shortlist received significant coverage including Publishing Perspectives, The Bookseller, The Irish Times, Books Ireland Magazine, The Daily Times, and SMAA as well as non-English language coverage in Livres Hebdo, Actualitté, PublishNews Brazil), Börsenblatt, and Chytomo. 

IPA's concern over Li Yahne was picked up in The Bookseller and some of IPA's activities at London Book Fair were covered in Nasher. 

IPA Past Presidents, Hugo Setzer and Richard Charkin, as well as current Vice President, Gvantsa Jobava were all interviewed in All About Book Publishing.
