IPA AI Event at Frankfurt to focus on copyright law and litigation
The International Publishers Association (IPA) is set to host an event titled "Copyright and AI" at this year's Frankfurt Book Fair. The event is scheduled to take place on October 16, 2024, from 16:30-17:30 in Room 'Fantaisie' at the Congress Centre. Read more.

Tackling misinformation: A common agenda for the publishing sector
Back in June 2024, the United Nations launched a set of global principles for information integrity. The aim is to help prioritize and coordinate international action needed to tackle the issues of misinformation and disinformation. The World Economic Forum considers disinformation to be the world's top risk over the next two years. The question for publishing is, what role do we play in helping to safeguard the truth? Read more.

IPA's Prix Voltaire was mentioned in articles by All About Book Publishing, European Book Fairs' Network, and Giornale della Libreria (in Italian). IPA's call for the freedom to publish in Turkey after the blocking of Wattpad was covered by Publishers Weekly.

IPA's work in providing feedback to WIPO on their toolkit for authors and publishers was covered by the European Writers' Council.
