WIPO holds 65th Assemblies
The 10 day long Assemblies concluded on 17 July with WIPO welcoming its 194th Member State, the Federated States of Micronesia, and reporting on progress across many copyright-related activities. Read more.

French publishers win Manga piracy case
On July 23, 2025, the Syndicat national de l'édition (SNE) and nine of its members obtained the site-blocking of Japscan which had had allowed hundreds of thousands to illegally consult many manga and comic titles. Read more.
IPA condemns continued destruction of Ukrainian Publishing by Russian attacks
Attacks in mid-June destroyed the Ukrainian Priority Publishing House and attacks on the night of 3rd July reduced the warehouse of Ukrainian PEN to rubble. IPA reaffirms its solidarity with Ukraine's book sector. Read more.

Dar Al Adab's Rana Idriss talks about Sheikh Zayed Book Award
In 2024, Dar Al Adab published Hoda Barakat's novel Hind, which later went on to win the 2025 Sheikh Zayed Book Award in the Literature category. Dar Al Adab's Rana Idriss talks about the impact that publishing a Sheikh Zayed Book Award-winning title will have on her publishing house, and reflects on the current market for Arabic fiction. Read more.
