The IPA brought a strong delegation of publishers to Geneva for the 43rd Standing Committee on Copyright and Related Rights of the World Intellectual Property Organization with Exceptions and Limitations to copyright firmly on the agenda. Read more.
IPA Welcomes the Release of Yao Wentian
On February 26, Hong Kong publisher Yao Wentian was released from Dongguan Prison in Guangdong province after nine years of imprisonment. Yao has now returned to his home and reunited with his family in Hong Kong. Read more.

IPA welcomes Internet Archive Judgement
On Friday 24 March the United States District Court in the Southern District of New York granted summary judgement for publishers Hachette Book Group, HarperCollins, John Wiley & Sons, and Penguin Random House, and rejected the summary judgement request from the Internet Archive. Read more.

Reflections from the Association of American Publishers on Hachette Book Group v. Internet Archive: An Affirmation of Publishing
Following three years of litigation in the critical copyright case Hachette Book Group, et al, v. Internet Archive, we now have a strong and favorable result.  In granting summary judgement for the publisher plaintiffs, Judge Koeltl resolved all four fair use factors in the Copyright Act against the Internet Archive (IA). Read more.
