Greetings readers,
A different kind of Frankfurt Book Fair is rapidly approaching and we are excited to have partnered with the fair to provide a full programme of events covering so many vital aspects of the industry.

We will also have two major launches during the week of the fair:
  • The State of Publishing reports
  • The SDG Publishers Compact.
Check our schedule of events below to find out more details.

We would normally hold committee meetings and our general assembly at Frankfurt and we will be sad not to meet our members face to face this year. Our General Assembly is now scheduled for Monday 23 November as an online event. IPA members should check their inboxes for updates on the details.

But this month's newsletter isn't just about Frankfurt. We are delighted to have confirmed the host city of our next International Publishers Congress - Jakarta. You can also check out our stories on the Moscow Call for Action, the Africa Publishing Innovation Fund, Global Goals week and a new Lusophone SDG Book Club and VAT worries in Brazil.

We hope to have many of you in the audience for our Frankfurt sessions.

About the IPA
Established in 1896, the International Publishers Association (IPA) is the world's largest federation of publishers associations. The IPA is an industry body with a human rights mandate, whose mission is to promote and protect publishing and raise awareness of publishing as a force for economic, cultural and social development. Working in cooperation with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and other supranational bodies, the IPA champions the interests of book and journal publishing at national and supranational level. Internationally, the IPA actively opposes censorship and promotes copyright, freedom to publish (including through the IPA Prix Voltaire), and literacy.
